I began designing with fabric as a young girl and my passion for dressmaking, quilt design, needlework and a myriad of folk arts blossomed. I perfected my skills as a seamstress, and was then moved to explore many other creative processes in other mediums. I was inspired on several trips to the Southwest to try my skills in doll making. Soon my creativity took flight and my Kiva Spirits were born. Each evolve individually with their own ethereal personalities, and are a celebrated expression of my artful journey. In honoring the Kachina tradition, I consider them as bearers of happiness, good health and prosperity.
Today, living in the beautiful wine country of California, my hands are always busy with graphic design projects, painting, decoupage, beading, silk screening and of course, textiles! As you can see from my product pages, I’m always having fun creating and playing with new ideas.
